Socks have a special place in knitting history and their history shows how sock knitting has changed the ergonomics of all knitting. Making socks should be as comfortable as wearing them. But many sock knitters have aches and pains creating their fantastic footwear. Fear not! This class explores risks and remediation for knitting socks from yarn to needles, cuff to toe, increases, decreases, and lots of stitches in between. It might help answer the age old question – “am I a toe up, or cuff down sock knitter?”
Student materials: light colored, solid, sock weight yarn, needles appropriate for yarn (knitter’s choice of needle – dpn, 2 circulars, magic loop, etc.).
