Frequently Asked Questions - Workshop Attendees


Workshop Homework & Materials Required 

  • To check if your workshop requires homework prepared in advance, and to see which materials you are required to bring, go to the workshop calendar HERE and tap/click on your workshop title(s).

  • For all knitting workshops we recommend bringing a basic knitters toolkit (measuring tape, tapestry needle, scrap yarn, small scissors etc.) and note taking supplies.

  • We have sent out separate emails for the Strange Brew, Seaming Techniques, and Finish Your Knits workshops with homework details. If you are registered for these and did not receive it please email us at info@knitsocial.ca

  • If the materials required recommends specific yarn that you are having trouble sourcing, please just bring a suitable substitute. Many yarn shops can recommend substitutes.

Workshop Locations

  • Your workshop location can be found in the workshop calendar, linked above, or in the nav bar to the left (desktop) or on your ticket.

  • For workshops at the Hastings Room, see the below map. Parking at the PNE grounds will be available for $12/day on Saturday and Sunday. There is also free neighbourhood parking within the surrounding area.

  • Friday and Monday parking is FREE, however please DO NOT park at the Forum on Friday. There is parking at the Hastings Room and just north of the Hastings Room available to you. Our vendors will be busy setting up for the Marketplace on Friday and we will need all Forum/Admin Building and Garden Auditorium parking kept available for them.

  • There are disability parking stalls directly across from the Hastings Room.

  • The Atrium Inn is located directly across the street on East Hastings from Gate 1 in the map below.

  • For workshops at the Atrium Inn, the Cypress Room I and II are located just off the main lobby. The Seymour Room is on the second floor. There will be signs directing you as well.

  • Please note parking at the Atrium Inn is for hotel guests only. There is free neighbourhood parking within a few blocks of the Atrium Inn.

Workshop Check In

  • Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes in advance of your workshop start time, but no earlier.

  • There will be volunteers stationed to check you in, you will just need to give your name but do not need to have your ticket scanned. Tickets will be scanned at the Marketplace only.

Lost Your Ticket?

  • If you can't find your ticket, please go to the bottom of the ticket widget HERE and follow the steps to have your ticket sent to you. If you still can't find it, please check your junk or spam folders. You can also add info@knitsocial.ca to your list of contacts to ensure the email is received.

Marketplace Entry & Early Admission

  • All workshop registrants receive free Marketplace Admission including Early Admission on Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:30am, regardless of which day your workshop is on.

  • ie. If you are registered for a workshop on Monday only you still receive Marketplace and Early Admission on Saturday and Sunday.

  • To try and alleviate long line ups and get you all into the Marketplace as soon as possible (especially in case of rain!) there will be TWO different entrances for Early Admission.

  • One will be at the Main Entrance on the south side of the Forum near Gate 1- look for the sign that says Marketplace Admission - Ticket Holders / Wristband Pick Up.

  • The other Early Admission Entrance will be on the West side of the Forum near the Gate 2 entrance. Look for the sign that says Early Admission - Wristband Holders Only. You must have your wristband already on to enter at this location. This entrance will only be open from 8:30am-10:00 am.

Wristband Pick Ups

  • Wristband pick ups for those who want to get them in advance of Saturday morning can be picked up the following places/times:

  • Friday classes - if you are registered for a Friday class it will be given to you when you check in.

  • Friday at the Atrium Inn lobby from 10:30-3:00. There will be a volunteer stationed in the lounge area.

  • Friday night lecture after the lecture is over.

  • Saturday morning outside the West entrance to the Forum at 7:30am - there will be a table set up.

  • Wristbands will also be given to you at the Main Entrance (look for the sign that says Marketplace Admission - Ticket Holders / Wristband Pick Up) when your ticket is scanned, at any time on Saturday or Sunday if you are not arriving for Early Admission.

Cancellations/Transfers

  • The deadline to cancel a class for a refund has now passed.

  • If you are unable to attend your workshop, you can now transfer your ticket to someone else.

  • You are responsible for any monetary transactions for the transfer, and you will need to let us know the name of the new person attending the workshop.

  • You can advertise your ticket on our Ravelry forum HERE, if you like.

  • To transfer your ticket to someone else, just email forward them the ticket you received when you registered. This is now their entrance to the Marketplace. Email us to let us know of the new name for the workshop roster. Otherwise your name will still be on the workshop roster when they check in for the workshop.
